Cyclist, motorist fight for life after separate crashes

A cyclist is fighting for life as is another driver after separate accidents in Adelaide within minutes of each other.

The female cyclist, 32, of Smithfield Plains, collided with a car on Curtis Road, near a Munno Para McDonalds, in the northern suburbs, at 8.43pm on Saturday.

She was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious head injuries. The car driver was taken to hospital as a “precaution”.

In the second crash, two cars collided at the intersection of Montague and McIntyre Roads, Modbury North, in Adelaide’s northeast, at 8.45pm.

The driver, 56, and sole occupant, of one car was also rushed to the RAH with serious injuries.

The driver and their three passengers in the other car travelling south escaped serious injury – two were taken to Modbury Hospital with minor injuries.

Major Crash officers are investigating both accidents.
