The first full-length promo for I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! promises that “kinda famous people from here and abroad have signed up”, including a pop star, renowned chef and an AFL player. In each season, about 14 contestants compete on the series.
Woman’s Day reported earlier this month that Dr. Chris Brown was trying to convince actor Bec Hewitt and her tennis player husband Lleyton Hewitt to sign up for the series. And in October Woman’s Day wrote that prominent anti-vaxxer and celebrity chef Pete Evans was also being courted for I’m a Celebrity “to create a bit of a buzz”.
Other names floated by the gossip mag include The Bachelor‘s Abbie Chatfield, actor Tania Zaetta, swimmer Ian Thorpe, singer Lorrae Desmond, controversial footballer Israel Folau, disgraced celebrity chef George Calombaris and influencer Tammy Hembrow.
Where is I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! 2021 filmed?
While I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! would usually be shot in Kruger National Park in South Africa, next year’s season is being filmed in Australia due to COVID-19 international travel restrictions. TV Tonight reported in August that the series is expected to be filmed in Dungay, NSW, near Murwillumbah, in subtropical rainforest.
The location, less than an hour from the Gold Coast is the site of the UK version of the show. The UK series has been filmed in Australia since 2002, first in Tully, Queensland, before moving to Dungay, NSW, and this year will be shot in Wales.
