Bindi Irwin Shares Update on Pregnancy Journey – Her Love for Her Daughter Is “Boundless”
Bindi Irwin has shared a new update on her pregnancy journey early this morning — and can everyone include Australian animals in their bump photos, please?
In her new post, of herself and husband Chandler Powell in Australia Zoo’s emu enclosure, Bindi shared that the couple are halfway through their pregnancy. “20 weeks pregnant and our baby girl about the same size as a recently hatched emu chick,” she wrote. “💗 The love I have for my sweetheart husband and our beautiful daughter is boundless.”
Bindi reflected on her path to motherhood at the start of September, saying after she took a pregnancy test she ran to find Chandler in the kitchen where he was making tea. “He didn’t hear me come in so I speechlessly watched him pouring the water into my most loved hedgehog mug. This news would change the course of our future in the best way. I started crying tears of pure joy and told my sweetheart husband that my test was positive.
“We sat together with tea talking about the future and how we were going to share such wonderful, life changing news with the people that we love. In that short span of time the gorgeous baby I’m carrying became the most important part of our lives.
“It is such a blessing knowing that this tiny person has chosen us as parents,” she added. “I can’t wait to find out what this amazing new soul loves in life, and experience the world all over again through their eyes.”
Today’s post joins a number of other images celebrating and chronicling her pregnancy journey, many of which feature Australia Zoo’s animals, like giraffes, koalas and wallabies. On a photo cradling her stomach from October, she wrote that their baby was “doing great”. “Every time we get an ultrasound she’s incredibly energetic and always moving around. She’s now about the same size as a mountain pygmy-possum.”
Bindi and Chandler announced they were expecting their first child together in August. In September, the couple revealed they were having a girl with a little help from a giant tortoise, saying she was “about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and as healthy as can be”. “Baby girl, you are our world.”
Bindi and Chandler were married at Australia Zoo in March, after getting engaged in July 2019.
