The Bachelorette’s Happily Single Becky Thinks Pete Wasn’t “Emotionally Available” for a Relationship
As we now know, Becky Miles and Pete Mann’s relationship after The Bachelorette didn’t last very long.
Pete was deemed a frontrunner from early in the season, sneaking a cheeky kiss behind his hat during their one-on-one photoshoot, before being whisked away on two romantic dates. The first saw the couple head up the Sydney Harbour Bridge for a private Starley concert, before they went on a boating double date with Elly and her eventual winner Frazer.
At those dates, Pete was open about his hesitancy to move out of Adelaide, where his differently abled brother and businesses are located. Then, at hometowns, Becky met his friends, two married couples, and admitted she’d potentially like a future partner to move for her, after having made that sacrifice for someone before.
After their final date last night, Becky raised that Pete might not be ready to commit so soon after separating from his ex, Kate Freebairn, and also questioned whether he was all that keen on her — two concerns that Pete didn’t make much of an effort to assuage.
In the end, Becky chose the more sensible option in Pete, rather than chasing the “passion” of her connection with Adrian. “You are worth that risk. I want to be the person that makes you happy,” Becky told Pete.
“I’m so excited to let myself go and to feel those emotions much more and to build this together,” Pete replied.
But their relationship lasted just days in the outside world, with Pete calling the whole thing off over FaceTime.
POPSUGAR Australia caught up with Becky this morning to talk about what really happened between her and Pete and how she reconnected (as friends!) with her runner-up Adrian.
