A Few of This Year’s Bachelorette Contestants Are Friends With Other Reality Stars – See Who They Know
The 2020 Bachelorette cast’s connections to other reality TV contestants and their previous stints on reality TV were uncovered on the So Dramatic! podcast last month.
Host Megan Pustetto described this year’s batch of contestants as “clout-chasers” and this year’s Bachelorette as a “who knows who” season. “I swear to God, everyone knows everyone in the reality TV world — it’s like a reality TV pyramid scheme,” she joked.
Which 2020 Bachelorette men already know other reality TV stars?
Damien is apparently “best friends” with Todd [Elton] from Love Island, and also fraternises with a number of other people from last year’s season, including winner Anna McEvoy, runner-up and Keira Maguire’s beau Matt Zukowski, Matt’s ex Cartier Surjan, Todd’s ex Jessie Wynter, Luke Packham and Eoghan Murphy. He’s also friends with Paige Royal from this year’s season of The Bachelor. Pascal also knows contestants from Locky Gilbert’s Bachelor season, Leilani and Bel.
Megan noted that Rudy “knows Jamie Doran” from The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, while “travel blogger Thom”, presumably tour guide Andrew Thomas, “knows Megan Marx and Jake Ellis”, the couple who first connected on Bachelor in Paradise season one and recently confirmed they had gotten back together.
Frazer is supposedly “best mates with Timm Hanly”, Angie Kent’s runner-up, who we saw fall from grace with some toxic masculine behaviour on Bachelor in Paradise (also how could he do that to Brittany Hockley!).
And let’s not forget Joe who apparently used to casually date the Bachelorette herself, Elly Miles.
Which 2020 Bachelorette men have been on reality TV before?
Megan also talked about two contestants’ stints on other shows, explaining why they might seem familiar to avid reality TV watchers.
She described AB Sow as a “former Dancing With the Stars contestant-slash-actor” — although he actually competed on Australia’s Got Talent, not as a dancer on DWTS. When he appeared in the first trailer for The Bachelorette last month, several news sites pointed out that he was a finalist on AGT in 2016, as part of a dance crew Equals, when then-future Bachelorette Sophie Monk was a judge.
James “Harry” Harris too has appeared on reality TV before, having come runner-up on House Rules in 2017, with his now-ex-wife Kate Whiting. As Megan explained, the couple — who are co-parents to a five-year-old son, Xavier — split in 2018 after nine years together. The pair apparently had a “tumultuous relationship” on House Rules.
