Even If None of the Romances on Farmer Wants a Wife Work Out, We’ll Always Have the Strong Female Friendships
There’s no guarantee that people — even our five farmers — will find lasting romantic relationships on Farmer Wants a Wife. But one thing we know for sure about dating shows is that some of the strongest connections are between the women themselves.
One such friendship seemed to be formed between Farmer Sam’s women. Three of the four women he took home to the farm told him that they didn’t have feelings for him.
While he’s since clapped back and accused them of being on the show “for the wrong reasons”, it does look like that statement’s a way to preserve his ego (It does hurt to be rejected, trust me, I know).
Still, it was empowering to see women make choices that put themselves and their future happiness first, and ultimately behave in a way that was compassionate to another person — there’s no need to string someone along, and by not doing so, they arguably proved they weren’t just there to be on national television.
And, through it all, women like Emily and Kirsten seemed to form strong friendships, despite being placed in a situation designed to pit women against each other in competition for a man.
Reflecting on her time on the show after her exit this week, Emily summed up the value of those friendships: “To the amazing girls I have been lucky to meet along the way, you women are truely incredible and I am blessed to have met you. Cannot wait for our post iso catchups to turn into actual plans.
“Most of us may not have found love but we found each other and those friendships are pretty special 🤍.”
Sure, we’ve seen unnecessary drama on the show more than we’ve seen women supporting women, with dinner party blowups and walkouts. But we’ve also seen online, as we often see on shows of this ilk, women thrown together by circumstance holding each other up as they navigate a strange and at times difficult situation — one us lay people can’t fully understand. Remember: you’re not seeing everything, just the juicy bits!
While the final two women for each farmer currently have their Instagrams set to private in the leadup to the finale (and we can tell you there’s some beautiful friendship stories there), the women who have left Farmer Wants a Wife still offer insight into the significant bonds through their reality TV journey. Even sometimes, thanks to the full group dinner party each week, between groups of women attached to different farmers.
We can’t help but stan women’s reality TV friendships!
