Police investigating the alleged suspicious death of a man on Ronald Street, Wynnum earlier this week are appealing for public assistance.

Just after midday on Wednesday, January 6, police were called to the residence where a 45-year-old man was located with significant head injuries.

Members of the public in the Wynnum and Mount Gravatt areas listed below are asked to check their yards and rubbish bins and to contact police if they locate anything matching the items listed.

In particular, officers are looking for the following items which may have been discarded after January 6:
• a pair of black running shoes, with white soles and a white ‘Nike’ motif on the side (pictured)
• a pair of earphones with a white cord
• a green and white cooler bag, most likely ‘Woolworths’ brand (pictured)
• a dark coloured baseball cap
• a pair of sunglasses with dark lenses and a light-coloured frame

Detectives have requested residents check their properties in the Wynnum and Wynnum North area, including Ronald Street, West Avenue, Stradbroke Avenue, French Street, Bellew Street, Cameron Parade and all other streets within the vicinity.

Additionally, residents of the Mount Gravatt area including Creek Road, Logan Road, Gowrie Street, Gosford Street, Tenby Street and all other streets within this area.

A 24-year-old Mount Gravatt man was arrested yesterday and charged with murder.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
